Exciting Start to EDNF Conference

The Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation Learning Conference kicked-off Thursday with Dr. Mitakides having the opportunity to meet with patients individually and answer questions they have waited a long time to ask. The Thursday evening welcome reception featured Dr. Mitakides and other professionals talking with the record-breaking crowd attending this year’s conference.

This morning, the general sessions began for the enthusiastic crowd with topics including, Updates on Foot & Ankle Care, Adaptive Physical Education for Teens, and Neurological Manifestations of EDS Including Diagnosis and Treatment by Fraser Henderson MD. Special seminars are also being held on genetic testing, coping and pain management, postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), tethered cord syndrome, and physical therapy for the EDS patient. Friday was a very full and informative day!
