it’s so hard to come to terms with and accept smitehong that you can not see, and even harder for other people who aren’t going through it to understand. I was diagnosed last year with Ehlers Danlos Hypermobility on the day of my daughters second birthday (ironic since now she is also exhibiting signs).Although it explained my entire existance, it left me with little answers in the way of what to do next, since not even the experts’ know. More tests lead to more questions then more shoulder shrugging. As a kid (and sometimes even now) I get the what’s wrong with you now? . As if I have nothing better to do then sit around and (quite literally) fall apart. Right now my shoulders are literally being held on by KT tape because I refuse to go in for my 3rd shoulder surgery in 2 years, knowing full well it will eventually fail. No one asks someone with Lupus or Diabetes what’s wrong with you now , why would you give any less validitiy to a disorder based on lack of knowledge? I can’t count how many doctor’s appointments I left in tears because they made me feel like it was in my head’ or I was medication seeker (which is the furthest from the truth I can not even take most pain meds due to allergies and weird reactions).Stay strong and take one day at a time, we are not our disorder <3
